Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested a driver and other suspects linked to the alleged kidnap and murder of Pentecostal Bishop Chinedu of End-Reconciliation Ministry in Asaba, Delta State.
The suspects were apprehended on Wednesday in Onitsha while attempting to sell the late bishop’s Toyota Prado SUV, which was recovered during the operation.
According to the Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the bishop was allegedly kidnapped and killed by a criminal gang. The suspects then took possession of his vehicle with plans to dispose of it.
Investigators said the bishop’s driver and domestic staff allegedly conspired with other unidentified accomplices to carry out the killing before fleeing with the vehicle to Anambra State for sale.
Police tracked the suspects to Nkpor in Idemili North LGA, where they were arrested alongside the recovered vehicle before the sale could be completed.
The Anambra State Police Command said an official statement with further details on the arrest, investigation, and circumstances of the bishop’s death will be released.
