Another feather of honour has been added to the cap of the President General of Uvwie General Improvement Union (UGIU) Chief Abovi Hope Erute as he was installed the exalted traditional title of Esirierha of Etche R Alegbo ( traditional administrative unit) in Uvwie Kingdom by HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso ( JP) Abe 1, OON , the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom at the posh palace of the Ovie of Uvwie Palace on Saturday 10th Saturday, 2025.
Speaking shortly before the installation, the highly esteemed traditional ruler explained that the event was in line with his policy of no vacuum in the traditional chieftaincy titles in Uvwie Kingdom.
He however remarked that Chief Abovi Hope Erute is a resourceful and dedicated chief of Uvwie Kingdom.
The Uvwie monarch also proclaimed that Chief Abovi Hope Erute with the installation , is the most senior Isirerha in Uvwie Kingdom.
The Secretary of Uvwie Traditional Council, Dr ( High Chief) Jimoh Eshenake ( JP) has earlier in his speech at the historic event, explained that an Esirierha is the most senior chief in chieftaincy conferment and not in age in an etche and that he does the traditional prayers in an occasion.
The Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori who was ably represented by the Chairman Board of Internal Revenue Delta State, Chief Hon Solomon Okporua Ighrakpata who spoke to our correspondent in a media chat expressed joy that Alegbo now has a new Esirierha as he affirmed that there is no vacuum in life .
Ighrakpata who hails from Alegbo Traditional Administrative Unit in Uvwie Kingdom however stated that Chief Abovi Hope Erute has stepped into a big shoe as he noted that the immediate past Esirierha of Etche R Alegbo, High Chief George Amurun was an institution in all ramifications.
He then prayed that God should bless Chief Abovi Hope Erute with wisdom, endurance and understanding to manage the affairs of his position.
Erute who also spoke to our correspondent, gladly remarked that the crowd of people who attended the event, underscored the importance of his new position.
” I take this opportunity to pledged to do my best in the tasks of taking Uvwie to greater heights.
” My message to the people of Etche R Alegbo, is a message of hope ” Chief Hope Erute added.
High point of the epoch making event, was the administration of oats of allegiance and conduct by Barrister Benjamin Eshenake on the newly installed Isirerha of Etche R Alegbo in Uvwie Kingdom.
The Provost of College of Education (COE) Warri Dr ( Olorogun) Dickson Onovwakpoma Oyovwi, the President General of Agbarha Warri Kingdom, Chief Emmanuel Ememu (JP), the President General of Umieghwa – Abraka Kingdom, Chief Monday Arawore , Prince Akpotaneghe Abugo and Okakuro Ezekiel Azanor were among eminent personalities that graced the occasion.
