HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe I the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom has promised to give the police a maximum support in prevention and combating of crime in Uvwie Local Government Area.
The highly esteemed traditional ruler gave the promise in response to the address of the new Commissioner of Police, Delta State Aina Adesola who paid him a finalization visit at the ultra modern palace of the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom, GRA Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area on Friday 13th March, 2026.
The Uvwie monarch however called for the maximum cooperation of the police in the prevention and fight against crime in the area.
He noted that when criminals are arrested on useful information , the complainants or informants were apprehended by the police and and attacked by human rights activists and this often led to the release of the criminals and that the release of the criminals was a threat to the lives of the complainants or those who gave information as to the arrest of the criminals.
The Uvwie monarch therefore stressed that the police and lawabing citizens must sincerely work together for the success of the prevention of crime and war against crime.
He also gladly disclosed that on ascension to the throne , he constituded a palace security committee that is also compromised of non indigenes aimed at combating and preventing crime in Uvwie Local Government.
Abe I further disclosed that several stakeholders meetings were also held on the issues of abuse and sales of drugs in Uvwie Local Government Area.

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Police Command, Aina Adesola had in his address, explained that his main purpose of paying the visit was to solicit for the support of the Ovie of Uvwie in the prevention and fight against crimes such as cultism, drug abuse, kidnapping, cyber fraudsters , defilement among others just as he stated that activities of commercial motorcycles ( Okada) tricycle ( keke) riders should be watched against passing information to criminals in the area.
He further that advised useful information about criminals should only be given to Divisional Police Officers ( DPOs ) and the Police Area Commander assuring that such information will be treated with utmost confidence.
CP Aina Adesola frowned at the practice of parents and guardians using influential persons to seek for the arrested criminals He reasoned that such practice is counterproductive as he noted that the criminals will go back to commit more crimes knowing that they will be released on the pressure of influential persons if they are caught.
He however praised the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom for his efforts in preventing and combating crime with the constitution of the said of Ovie of Uvwie Palace Security Committee.
Aina was also full of appreciation to the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom for the red carpet reception accorded him and his entourage.
High point of the epoch making event was the presentation of a expensive souvenir to the 23rd Commissioner of Police Delta State by HRM Abe 1.
