Agbarha Warri Youth Movement Agbarha Warri has backed Agbarha Warri Regency Council (AWRC ) in the selection and entronement of a new monarch in Agbarha kingdom Warri in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
This followed a statement issued by the body that is comprised of male and female youths in the seven authomous communities of Agbarha Kingdom in press briefing at Otovwodo( Agbassa) Community , the traditional headquarters of Agbarha Warri kingdom on Wednesday 29th November, 2023 .
The statement signed by youths of the seven authomous communities explained that the press briefing was a reaction to another press briefing held in opposition to the position of the Agbarha Warri Regency Council ( AWRC ) by a particular family in Edjeba Warri Community and another family in Otovwodo (Agbassa ) Warri .
In the statement signed by Oghenetega Ugberikoko ( Otovwodo Community ) Precious Obueke ( Edjeba Warri Community ) Agberia Ekpebedafe ( Igbudu Community) , Kenneth Ugbokodo ( Okurode Community, Kenneth Uriamela ( Ogunu Community ) O . Ovuakporaye ( Oteghele Community and Gbubemi Tagbajumi ( Ukpokiti Community ) noted that the said families were micro minority in Otovwodo ( Agbassa)Community and Edjeba Warri Community and therefore cannot speak on behalf of the majority families of the two communities on the selection and entronement of a new monarch in Agbarha Warri Kingdom.
The statement condemned an alleged attack on Agbarha Warri Regency Council by the said Otovwodo ( Agbassa) Edjeba Warri families as the statement appreciated and applauded AWRC in piloting the affairs of the kingdom successfully so far since the demise of the Agbarha Warri monarch HRM Ememoh 11 ( of blessed memory ) and ensuring the selection and entronement of a new monarch without rancour or bitterness .
The youth movement also commended and appreciated Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori for his interest in the peace and development of the kingdom with the involvement of Delta State Peace Building and Conflict Resolution Committee in the selection and entronement of a new monarch in Agbarha Warri kingdom.
The Agbarha Warri Youth Movement stressed that the Delta State Peace Building and Conflict Resolution Committee committee should be allowed to do its work without distraction by the said families.
