BY ESE ADAGBRA

Leaders of Aghoro II Community of Iduwini Kingdom in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State carried out their threat of banning all political campaigns in the community by chasing Honourable Fred Agbedi and others who came to campaign in the community .

An eye witness said that they had to run for their lives!

“despite the ban of all political campaigns and Activities placed on the community by our leaders some Politicians led by Hon.Fred Agbedi still went ahead to the community to campaign but youths working on the instructions of the leaders had to chase them when they were about making their various speeches in the podium at the Community Civic Center ,the youths brought down all the canopies and chairs for the gathering” eye witness said .

A statement by some leaders in the community , Mr Dennis Akpotu and Ebi Orukarevwe stated that one of the reasons why they are angry is that Hon.Agbedi for the past three years have taken advantage of the leadership vacuum in the community by grabbing SPDC jobs and contracts.

” So if PDP and Governor Douye Diri are serious they should bring a replacement for Hon Agbedi because we are prepared to elect our choice and not those from the Governor who will not carry us along, We have no problem with Governor Diri he is our Governor but he should do the needful, because Fred Agbedi cannot be our representative in Abuja and play role of Community Leader by interfacing with SPDC”.it stated

The Leaders concluded that they have taken their destiny into their hands and are prepared for the worse .

It Would be recalled that an earlier statement released to newsmen by the leaders indicate that Combat Ready Mobile Policemen sent to the Community since 25, December,2022 are still in the community.

The statement adds that as a condition for peace talk the mobile Policemen should be removed from the community to give way for peace talk

According to the statement the leaders said they are not going to relent or relax until Douye Diri do the needful by fulfilling his promise of asking SPDC to pay them their entitlement
and restore all leadership structures including the traditional kingship stool.

We are not going to stop but continue to do everything to disrupt all forms of political campaigns and Activities in Aghoro II Community,

“We are ready to work with anybody or Political party that is ready to bring peace, development and prosperity to our community but certainly not Hon.Agbedi or PDP ” it added
