Bomadi – In a proactive response to ensure the safety and security of its communities during the festive season, the Hon. Dagidi Andaye-led administration has officially launched “Operation Peaceful Yuletide.”
This initiative, spearheaded by the Peace and Security Committee, features a collaborative patrol effort involving personnel from the Military Joint Task Force (JTF), the Nigeria Police Force, and members of the Bomadi Local Government Vigilante. The primary objective of this operation is to address insecurity, prevent theft, combat cultism, and mitigate various forms of crime.
Bomadi Council Chairman, Hon. Dagidi Rawlings Andaye, emphasized the operation’s 24-hour mandate aimed at maintaining a secure environment for residents, reflective of his administration’s commitment to public safety, especially during this period of heightened activity and movement.

In his statement, Hon. Andaye reiterated a strict prohibition on the use of fireworks, commonly referred to as “knockouts.” This directive aligns with the Inspector General of Police’s guidelines and aims to prevent criminals from utilizing the commotion caused by fireworks as a cover for unlawful activities. He noted, “The loud noise can mask criminal actions, placing citizens at risk.”
The Council Chairman urged Bomadi residents to cooperate with security personnel and to report any suspicious activities, promoting the mantra: “If you see something, say something.” He reassured the community that the Joint Patrol Team is diligently working to ensure a safe and peaceful yuletide for all law-abiding citizens.
Andaye concluded by highlighting the shared responsibility of citizens in supporting security personnel to preserve peace and stability within the community. He appealed to everyone to refrain from activities that could jeopardize safety or disrupt the harmony of Bomadi during this festive season.
