In his address, Chukwunwike called for collective empathy for the families of fallen soldiers, stressing the necessity of government commitment to their welfare. He advocated for ongoing care and support for widows, children, and parents of the deceased, asserting that honoring heroes must translate into tangible actions.
The ceremony included wreath-laying by representatives of the Nigerian Legion, the Executive Chairman, heads of security agencies, and other dignitaries, including Vice Chairman Hon. Patricia Adolue and Legislative Leader Hon. Leonard Nzemeke.
