The leader of the Bomadi Local Government Legislative Arm,Hon. Wurukeseiye Doubra, along with four principal officers, on Friday submitted an official rebuttal letter to the Delta State House of Assembly firmly rejecting the impeachment notice filed by a faction of councillors seeking the removal of Council Chairman Hon. Dagidi Andaye.
The rebuttal, co-signed by Hon. Doubra and the Clerk Comrade Julius Clerke, labeled the allegations of misappropriation of funds and abuse of office against Hon. Andaye as baseless and politically motivated.
Following the submission of the rebuttal to the House of Assembly clerk for further processing to Speaker Rt. Hon. Dennis Guwor, Hon. Doubra addressed the media, stating that the impeachment notice is null and void due to lack of due process.
He emphasized that Section 31(2) of the Delta State Local Government Law 2017 (as amended) requires impeachment proceedings to be initiated by a written notice signed by at least two-thirds of the legislative arm’s total membership, served on the chairman through the clerk with supporting documentary proof of alleged misconduct.
Hon. Doubra who was accompanied to Delta State House of Assembly by the Deputy leader,Hon. John Tomme, Majority leader Hon. Cletus Porbeni ,Deputy majority leader ,Hon Eke Clerk Watchman.and Deputy chief whip , Hon. Loveth Tutu Ogbomudia noted that the clerk did not receive any notice of impeachment, as he was absent from the purported session, and no mace was in use during the meeting.

Reiterating his stance, Hon. Doubra appealed to the House of Assembly to dismiss the factional councillors’ impeachment notice, demanding all supporting documents from the accusers and granting Hon. Dagidi Andaye a fair hearing before any further actions are taken.
