BOMADI—The executive chairman, Bomadi local government area of Delta State, Hon. Andaye Rawlings Dagidi, has sworn five supervisors into his cabinet in accordance with the Delta State Local Government Law of 2017 (as amended) to pilot affairs of the council area effectively to achieve set goals of his administration.
The ceremony which took place on Tuesday at the Council’s Conference Hall, Council Secretariat, Bomadi, had in attendance leaders of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and well-wishers from various communities in the creeks.
In his address, Hon. Dagidi noted that the ceremony marked a crucial step in his administration’s efforts to enhance governance and development in the council area, stressing the appointments and ultimate swearing in of the supervisors would bolster successful administration of the council area.
He said: “The swearing in of the supervisors marks a crucial step in our administration’s efforts to enhance governance and development in our local government area.
“This will facilitate effective governance aligning with the Policy Thrust of my administration, which prioritizes community-based and inclusive initiatives, reinforcing the state government’s M.O.R.E Agenda in Bomadi local government area.
“You can recall that on August 18th, 2024, I inaugurated the elected councillors who now constitute the Legislative Arm of the local government council. Today, with your inauguration, we have taken a major step towards actualizing the composition of the Executive Arm of the local government council.
“This synergy between the legislature and the executive will drive our administration’s lofty goals, ultimately impacting the socio-economic well-being of our people.
“I urge you to take your responsibilities very seriously, focusing on achieving our administration’s goals. I charge you to work diligently, upholding the principles of transparency, accountability and inclusivity as we strive to make Bomadi local government area a model of excellence and development.
“I also call on the local government staff to extend their support and cooperation to them, as your experience and guidance are crucial in navigating challenges and ensuring success of our administration”.
However, five supervisors were sworn in with portfolios assigned them by the chairman of council at the occasion. The supervisors and their portfolios are: Hon. Dandy Mulade (Agriculture & Natural Resources), Mr Ekiyor Barber ( Education, Youth and Sports), Hon. Okubo Febugha (Community and Social Development), Hon. Adaka Amameniye (Health) and Mr Timipre Dauebimone in charge of Works and Housing.
More so, the vice chairman, Hon. (Mrs) Poweide Bekes, was appointed to take charge of the Environment Department.
In their response, Hon. Mulade, speaking on behalf of his colleagues, thanked Hon. Dagidi for giving them the opportunity to serve and pledged to work in unison to achieve the administration’s set goals.
