In a gesture that underscores his commitment to grassroots welfare, the Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, on Wednesday distributed palliatives to indigent residents of the council as part of the Dangote–Renewed Hope Initiative, a partnership between the Dangote Foundation, the Federal Government, and the Delta State Government.
The distribution, held at the Chairman’s Lodge in Ogwashi-Uku, witnessed a large turnout of beneficiaries drawn from various communities across the council. The initiative is aimed at cushioning the effects of the current economic realities and aligning with the broader vision of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

Addressing the beneficiaries, Pastor Chukwunwike commended Alhaji Aliko Dangote (GCON) and the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for their collaborative effort in ensuring that palliatives reach those who need them most.
“This gesture is not just an act of charity; it is a reflection of the government’s compassion and determination to ensure that no one is left behind,” he stated. “I encourage us all to continue to support the policies of the Federal Government, pray for Alhaji Dangote, and appreciate the state government for remembering the ordinary people at a time like this.”
The council chairman, accompanied by his vice chairman ,Hon Patricia Ekwutozam Adolue ; leader of the legislative arm, Hon. Leonard Nzemeke ; secretary of the council, Hon. Prince Tony K Ebube ; councilors, and supervisory councilors, personally supervised the distribution process to ensure transparency and equity.

Emotions ran high as beneficiaries—among them widows, elderly citizens, and persons with disabilities; expressed gratitude for the food relief, describing the initiative as timely and life-saving, especially as the yuletide season approaches.
Observers at the event noted that the exercise once again reinforced Hon. Chukwunwike’s reputation as a responsive and people-centered leader who places human welfare at the heart of governance. His consistent engagement with the grassroots and collaboration with both government and private institutions have earned him commendation.
At the outset of the distribution of the palliative, prayers were offered for the leaders of the Federal Republic, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the Delta State Government, and the Aniocha South Council for their united effort to renew hope and rekindle faith in responsive governance.
