Commissioner for the Directorate for Riverine Infrastructure Development Chief Ebikeme Clark has confirmed that Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is firmly committed to advancing the development of riverine communities.
This assertion was made during an inspection tour of ongoing projects in Warri North and Warri South-West Local Government Areas, highlighting the administration’s determination to fulfill its MORE Agenda by providing significant infrastructure to these areas.
The projects inspected included a 3.1-kilometre road linking Kolokolo and Tisun communities, along with the Oporoza Model Secondary School in Warri South-West LGA. Clark was joined by engineers from the directorate, representatives from Ocean Explorers Nigeria Limited—the construction firm managing the road projectand community leaders.

During the visit, Chief Clark emphasized that Governor Oborevwori aims to ensure residents of riverine areas have access to the same quality of infrastructure as urban centers, overcoming the unique challenges posed by the difficult terrain. He stated, “For Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the terrain is not a limitation. He has proven his capacity in urban areas and is replicating the same standards in riverine communities. He is breaking the jinx.”
Clark confirmed that the Kolokolo-Tisun road project has been awarded to a reputable contractor to guarantee durability, and he reiterated the state government’s commitment to high-quality execution of all projects. He praised the contractor for the progress made despite environmental challenges and acknowledged the difficulties faced by the Oporoza project contractor due to terrain constraints.
Community members, including leaders from Kolokolo, Tisun, and Oporoza, expressed their gratitude to the Delta State Government, describing the infrastructure projects as the most significant developments in their communities. They pledged their ongoing loyalty and support to Governor Oborevwori.
The Oporoza Model Secondary School, once completed, will feature male and female hostels, staff quarters, a library, science laboratories, administrative offices, and other modern facilities aimed at enhancing educational quality.
This inspection tour underscores the Oborevwori administration’s commitment to bridging infrastructural gaps and promoting balanced development across all areas of Delta State.
