The Ovie of Uvwie kingdom,Abe the first has urged the Inspector General Of Police , IGP Kayode Egbetokun to Establish Uvwie Police Area command in Uvwie kingdom .
The Uvwie Monarch made the appeal when the state commissioner of Police , CP Abaniwonda Olufemi and his entourage paid him a courtesy visit at his palace in Effurun GRA ,Uvwie local government Area of Delta State
The Ovie of Uvwie kingdom Abe the first while welcoming the Delta state Police Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi to his palace said Uvwie is overdue for the establishment of Uvwie Police Area command .
The Uvwie monarch noted that he has written series of letter in that direction ,urging the commissioner of police ,CP Abaniwonder Olufemi to make the request a reality.
Abe the first informed the commissioner of Police that the Divisional Police Officers,DPO’s in Uvwie local government Area are up and doing, Stressing that the kingdom is peaceful.
He urged the Commissioner of police to provide the necessary support to enable the DPO’s performed better while carrying out their duties .
The Uvwie Monarch also informed the commissioner of Police that Uvwie was among the most peaceful kingdoms in the state during last year General Election.
Responding the commissioner of police CP Abaniwonda Olufemi thanked the Ovie of Uvwie kingdom for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage.
CP Olufemi informed the Ovie of Uvwie kingdom that he decided to pay him and his chiefs visit and to asked for his royal prayers and support for him to succeed in his assignment in Delta State .
On the request by the Ovie of Uvwie on the need to establish Uvwie Police Area Command,CP Olufemi said he will facilitate the request.
The commissioner of police informed the Uvwie Monarch that he and his men will continue to curb crime in the kingdom and Delta state in general.
The Uvwie monarch later presented gift to the commissioner of police .
