The approved budget comprises 500 billion Naira for recurrent expenditure and One Trillion, Two Hundred and Twenty-Nine point Nine Billion Naira for capital expenditure.
The passage of the budget followed the presentation of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriations report by Chairman Hon. Marylin Okowa-Daramola during a plenary session led by Speaker Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor. The motion for the third reading and ultimate passage was moved by House Leader Hon. Emeka Nwaobi and seconded by Deputy Speaker Hon. Arthur Akpowowo.
Following the budget’s approval, Speaker Guwor described the passage as a significant achievement aligned with the State Government’s policy direction. He stated, “With this third reading, we have completed one of our critical constitutional duties, demonstrating our collective resolve to build a Delta State that is just, fair, and equitable.”
Guwor highlighted the budget’s focus on the “Budget of Accelerating the MORE Agenda,” which aims to be people-centered and sustainable. He expressed gratitude to Governor Oborevwori for his vision for the state’s development and commended the House members for their dedication and professionalism in producing a robust financial plan for 2026.
