Delta State Governor Presents Staff Of Office To Odio-Ologbo Of Irri, Igbogidi I

The people of Irri kingdom have been implored to accord His Royal Majesty, Simon Wajutome Odhomo, Igbogidi l, Odio-Ologbo of irri kingdom, the respect and honour that befit his status.

Delta State Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori gave the advised while presenting staff of office to Irri Monarch on Thursday at irri primary school,irri Isoko South Local government Area of Delta State.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori whose address was read by the Deputy Governor,Sir Monday Onyeme stated that Royal fathers remain the link between the government and the grassroots in the mobilization towards understanding, participating and supporting government policies and programmes.

Governor Oborevwori further added that the traditional institution would continue to receive the honour it deserves from the state Government .

He enjoined all royal fathers in the state to continue to serve as the rallying point for peace and development in their communities.

While congratulating the Odion-Ologbo of irri kingdom,Igbogidi the first the Governor charged him to consult his people in all his decisions that affect the community and Allow the interest of the community to inform his actions.

Governor Oborevwori also urge the Odio-Ologbo of irri and other royal fathers in the State, to continue to mobilize their people towards self help, which would enhance their well-being, stressing communities should not be looking only up to government for solutions to the myriad of problems of sustainable development, because the resources available to government are not limitless .
“I have listened to the address of Irri community and the requests contained in it. The requests are quite legitimate. They will all be channeled to the appropriate quarters for necessary advice and action. On this joyous occasion, permit me to enjoin our royal fathers to continue to serve as the rallying point for peace and development in our communities.

“This administration is taking a holistic view of the sustainable development of the entire State. Surely, Irri will not be left out. However, I urge you and other royal fathers in the State, to continue to mobilize your people towards self help, which would enhance their well-being.

“At a time like this, communities should not be looking only up to government for solutions to the myriad of problems of sustainable development, because the resources available to government are not limitless while other pressing needs and demands from numerous sectors also require the attention and action of government.
Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, once again, I congratulate His Royal Majesty, the Odio-Ologbo of Irri Kingdom and the good people of Irri on this festive occasion. It is my belief that this presentation of Staff of Office will usher in a new era of peace, unity, remarkable and accelerated development of this community.” The Governor stated.

Earlier the local Government chairman of Isoko South ,Hon Ovoke Warri appreciated the state Governor for presenting staff of office to the Odio-Ologbo of Irri Kingdom.

He enjoined everyone to give the monarch the necessary support for him to succeed in taking the kingdom to an enviable height.

Also speaking the chief Adonis Ubuwere who read the speech of Irri Kingdom thanked the state Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori,Isoko South traditional rulers council,Isoko development union,Irri council of chiefs ,office of peace building and conflict Resolution of the state amongst others for their support in making the presentation of staff of office to Igbogidi the first possible

Highpoint of the ceremony was the presentation of staff of office to the Odio-Ologbo of Irri Kingdom, Igbogidi the first flanked by his queen .
