The Delta State House of Assembly is expected to continue its collaborative efforts with the Executive arm of government in ensuring that the State’s development agenda remains on track.

Speaking ahead of resumption of plenary after the Christmas and New Year celebrations, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Mr Nkem Nwaeke, said the 8th Delta State Assembly under the leadership of Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor will witness enhanced legislative productivity in 2025.

Mr Nwaeke stated that the House was marked by several significant gains in 2024 and that the positive narratives will continue in 2025 and beyond.

The CPS emphasized that under the pragmatic leadership of Rt Hon Guwor, the State Assembly has made notable progress in passing legislation that benefits the citizens of Delta State.

Nkem Nwaeke noted that the Speaker and his team are very much interested in the good governance of the state and will always ensure that the yearnings and aspirations of the people of Delta State are met.

The CPS said his Boss who is the National Treasurer, Conference of Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria, has gained so much public accolades as a result of his legislative experience and leadership skills that has made the 8th Assembly vibrant, tick, focused and popular among comity of state legislatures.

He assured that the Speaker would continue to take steps to strengthen the legislative institution in Delta State and ensure that the House remains productive in line with its constitutional obligations.

“Looking ahead into 2025, projections for the Delta State House of Assembly are promising.

“Under the quality leadership of Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, the House already passed a realistic and implementable budget for 2025 fiscal year which has been assented to by His Excellency, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor Delta State.

“The 979. 2 billion naira budget is the working tool for the government in addressing state’s issues and promoting economic growth, and the Speaker is ever committed in supporting the Governor to succeed in the MORE agenda.
