Delta State Government has commenced the construction of drainage project in the flood proned Aghoghovbia Road , Warri South Local Government Area of Delta state
Residents who spoke to our correspondent at the weekend on the ongoing drainage construction project were full of praises to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
one of them Jackson Abayomi stated that Aghoghovbia Road and the adjoining Arigbe Street have been bedeviled with flood during rainy season.
He stated that the perennial problem had forced residents to relocate out the area.
” The construction of drainage project is a welcome development. Governor Okowa should be commended for it ”
Similarly , a female sales girl who declined to identify herself stated that the flood problem also affected sales in the area . ” We record low sales during rainy season due to the waterlogged road.
” You know Aghoghovbia is a business area because of its closeness to Warri Post Office, Igbo Market and even Main Market.
” But during rainy season , buyers avoid this area.” She added.
She was therefore appreciative to Governor Okowa over the construction of drainage project.
