HRM Dr Emmanuel Ekemejewa Sideso JP OON Abe 1 the Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom has urged the Federal Government to give Alfred Diete Spiff Airport, Osubi more attention .
He gave the charge in his welcome remarks during the courtesy visit of the Managing Director ( MD ) of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria ( FAAN ) Mr Kabir Yusuf Mohammed to his ultra modern palace GRA Effurun Uvwie Local Government Area on Wednesday 12th July, 2023 .
The Uvwie monarch noted that Osubi and its environs were peaceful and as such the airport should be given more attention in terms of development and that it should be upgraded to an international airport.” The Airport is one of the busiest in Nigeria. So it deserves more attention ” he stressed.
The highly esteemed traditional ruler also charged his royal guest on the welfare of staff of Osubi Airport as he remarked that they were hardworking.
He further charged the MD of FAAN on the corporate/ socio responsibilities to the people of the area as he called for employment for the unemployed among them .
Mr Mohammed had earlier among other things explained that he was at the palace of the traditional ruler to receive his blessings.
High point of the event was the presentation of a gift from the MD of FAAN to the Uvwie monarch.
Mr Kabir Yusuf Mohammed was on working visit to the area.
