A Warri based socialite, Comrade Ola Balogun has urged Nigerians to continue to celebrate the sacrifices made by late Chief M.K.O Abiola.
The Osun State born democrat made the call in a media interaction with our correspondent at the popular Ogbonna Palmwine Bar Ginuwa Road, Warri last weekend.
The soft spoken Ola Balogun, noted that the late Abeokuta born political icon paid the price of democracy which he said Nigerians are enjoying today.
” Nothing will be too much to immortalized and remember Chief M.K.O Abiola.
” I therefore appreciate the immediate past President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Major General Muhammadu Buhari rtd for declaring June 12 a public holiday in Nigeria.
” I called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to also do something to immortalize late Chief M. K. O Abiola his kinsman.
” He should be celebrated at the local, state and federal government levels by elected and appointed office holders because but for Chief Abiola they would have enjoying the dividends of democracy today.
” I my little way I host friends and lovers of democracy annual in this Palmwine Bar” he added.
