Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, has said that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is running a youth-friendly administration.

Onyeme made the disclosure at the weekend while speaking at the Ndokwa Community Youth Leaders M.O.R.E. Agenda Roundtable Discourse held at Kwale in Ndokwa West Local Government Area of Delta State at the weekend.

He said, “As a government, our Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori pays special attention to the affairs of youths and we are really grooming the youths to be actually, the leaders of tomorrow.

“Our Commissioner in charge of the Ministry for Urban Renewal, Hon. Michael Anoka from Ndokwa West is a youth; our Commissioner for Primary Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibuogwu is a youth and our Commissioner for Finance, an elder, though, not a youth but the brain behind it is that we want to promote the youths, we want to groom youths and when you are grooming people, you need experienced people to groom them, so, out of three Civil Commissioners from Ndokwa Nation, we say okay we must have one elder so that the youths can learn from him.

“So, you can see that our dear Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori is getting it right.

“I want to assure you that as far as matters of youths are concerned, this government is getting it right, the Ndokwa Nation is a pacesetter in this revolution of projecting the youths into positions of authority and so, other ethnic nationalities, I can tell you are to copy from us.

“I can also, assure you that this government will do everything to promote the youths, trying to make them to contribute towards our mission of having a productive, progressive state.

The Deputy Governor who was accompanied by his wife, Ezinne Catherine, commended the youths for coming together to discuss, observing that such a discourse will enable them to be more peaceful, focused and agree on the best ways to achieve desired results.

The convener of the meeting, Barr Hessington Okolo, in an address, assured the youths that Governor Oborevwori’s administration would fulfill his campaign promises to the people of Ndokwa Nation and all Deltans.

Okolo, who is the Executive Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilisation said that youths of Ndokwa Nation were happy with Governor Oborevwori and his Deputy,, Sir Monday Onyeme for promoting the interests of youths and for their humanitarian activities in the state.

Highpoint of the meeting was the passing of vote of confidence by the youths on the governor and his deputy.

The member representing Ndokwa East constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Emeka Osamuta, the Commissioner representing Ndokwa Ethnic nationality at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Dr Charles Olisa and other top government functionaries attended the ceremony which had youths from Ukwuani, Ndokwa West and Ndokwa East Local Government Areas in attendance.
