Ofoni Receives Officers,Students of Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji

…… Commends Security Agencies for Sustainable Peace and Security in Uvwie

 

 

 

The Executive Chairman, Uvwie Local Government ,Chief Anthony Onoriode Ofoni on Thursday received officers and students of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji in his office at Uvwie Secretariat.

 

Chief Ofoni commended the military, police and other security agencies for the synergy in sustaining peace and security in Uvwie Council Area and the State in general.

The Uvwie council Boss informed the team that Uvwie local government is the economic hub of the state as it host multinational companies, Nigerian National petroleum Company  NNPC, limited , Nigerian Gas Company ( NGC) amongst others .

 

He also inform them that the federal University of Petroleum Resources FUPRE and Petroleum Training Institute ( PTI) are also located in the council area including the 3 Battalion of the Nigerian Army and Nigerian  Navy Baracks. 

 

Chief Ofoni took time to abreast the team of the cultural composition, political and traditional structure, and the hospitable disposition of the Uvwie people . 

 

The Uvwie council chairman informed the team of measure and strategies implored at the grassroot level towards sustaining peace and security in the area .

 

 

The leaders of the team, Brigadier General A.M Grema ( Commander of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji) and Captain S . G. Mohammed commended the Uvwie Council boss for the warm reception and hospitality. 

 

General Grema through his spokesman informed the Chairman that the visit was part of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College official study tour of the state on a research assignment by the course 47 students of the college with the topic,” Enhancing Grassroot Intelligence for internal Security, adding that they are in the council area to share grassroot security intelligence with the Chairman, as part of their Civil -military relation for enhanced security in Nigeria and sub – Sahara Africa.

 

The team, which comprises Military officers from Ghana, Tanzania, Mali amongst others, had a fruitful interactive security and intelligence sharing engagement with the Uvwie Council boss.

 

 

High point of the visitation was the presentation of a military cap by the Commander of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Brigadier General A.M. Grema to the Uvwie Council boss for the sustainable synergy with the army and other security agencies and his development efforts in Uvwie Council Area.
