A fronline Warri Urhobo born fronline politician , Voke Omagbemi has lambasted a group known as New Delta Coalition for calling on Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori to assist Economic Finance Crime Commission ( EFCC) in investigation of the alleged misappropriation of public funds by former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa signed by one Godwin Unaughe making the rounds in the media.
Omagbemi who reacted to the said publication, noted that the publication was made out of vendetta against former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as he identified the author Godwin Unaughe as a former aide to All Progressive Congress ( APC ) governorship candidate in the last Delta State governorship election ,Senator Ovie Omo-Agege who he said was rejected by electorate in Delta State because of the achievements of former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
Omagbemi who described the entire write up of Mr Godwin Unaughe as baseless, therefore alleged that Unaughe was fighting the course of his political master, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
The Okere Urhobo born political icon also strongly advised Unaughe and his political master to allow the judiciary to play its duty on the issue rather making inciting statements that were prejudice.
Omagbemi further supported his claim by pointing out that no governor has supported the EFCC in investigating alleged financial crimes of a former governor in the political history of Nigeria and therefore Delta State will not be the first.
An aggrieved Voke Omagbemi , like most patriotic Deltans noted that it was only former governors of Delta State that were subjected to public humiliation by the powers that be on such matters as he noted that the likes of former Governor Yaya Belo of Koji State declared wanted by EFFC over a year ago has not been arrested by the EFCC.
He therefore urged the general public to ignore the outbursts Mr Godwin Unaughe as he called on the authorities concerned to do thorough investigation on the allegations against former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in the interest of justice, insisting that former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa is one of the finest politician Delta State has ever produced .
