…Says winning elections is serious business, requires productive party structures
Chief Executive Officer of Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that the landslide victory of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, at the just concluded Local Government Council Elections is a testament to the fact that the state chapter of the party is waxing stronger by the day under the leadership of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.
Dr Oghenesivbe made the assertion while speaking as guest of Trend 100.9 FM Radio in Asaba, saying that winning elections is a serious business, which is why electioneering victories can only be attained through a united, active and productive party structures with strong membership base, coupled with the achievements of the party and candidates within a reasonable time.
He noted that PDP and her party structures worked very hard, campaigned extensively as can be seen from credible media reports from traditional and social media organisations, pointing to show that opposition political parties were seen to be unprepared with weak party structures, and poor membership base in Delta State.
Oghenesivbe, urged the leadership of opposition parties to face reality by accepting defeat as rightly exhibited by the Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Isoko North Local Government Area, Apostle Joshua Ogbodo, who wholehearted congratulated the winner and PDP candidate, Prince Godwin Ogorugba.
He assured that governor Oborevwori shall continue to embark on meaningful development and ensure opportunity for all Deltans, as well as provide the necessary support for poor families and People With Disabilities, while not shifting focus on mega infrastructure and socioeconomic development across the three senatorial districts of the state.
The Bureau Chief commended the state governor, Elder Oborevwori, for leading PDP to a landslide victory at the just concluded Local Government Council Elections, and more importantly, for creating the enabling and conducive atmosphere for a credible, transparent, free and fair elections.
“It’s obvious that His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, is a champion leader of our great party, PDP in Delta State. We cantthsnk him enough for leading PDP to a heartwarming victory in the just concluded council elections, wherein we won the entire 25 local government areas.
“The governor’s support for local government council autonomy is unprecedented, a pointer to the fact that he’s a core Democrat whose lawmaking background resonates in his leadership style as governor of Delta State.
“An particularly overjoyed to be part of the success stories of the governor’s remarkable achievements within one year in office, and his accomplishments helped a great deal in the just concluded Local Government Council Elections.
“The MORE Agenda is fully on course, and am pretty sure that governor Oborevwori will continue to upscale his performance in all sectors of the state economy,” Oghenesivbe assured.
