RFHD:Rotarians Pledge To Support Improvement Of Health Care Delivery In Delta State

Seventeen Rotary Clubs and Rotaract clubs in Warri and it’s environs under Rotary international District 9141 have pledged to support Delta state government to improve on its healthcare delivery system.

Delta State Representative for Rotary family health days 2024/2025, Rotarian Franklin Oteh made the disclosure during a three- day free medical services held at Alaka health center, Effurun Delta state .

Hundreds of residents from different local government areas of the state gathered at Alaka health center to benefit from the free health care services provided by the Rotary family health days a signature programme of the Rotary Action Group for Family Health and AIDS Prevention, RFHA.

The programme is a unique and longstanding initiative that provides free health screenings and connects communities to critical health information and resources.

Speaking during the free health care services,Delta State Representative for Rotary family health days , Rotarian Franklin Oteh said the programme which was supported by 17 Rotary clubs and Rotaract clubs in Warri ,Uvwie ,Udu ,Ughelli South and Ughelli North local government areas was an opportunity for the clubs to reach out to indigent residents in the various communities that needed free health care .

He added that the Rotary family health days programme is also supported by Bill and Melinda Gates foundation,world health organization,federal ministry of health , Rotarians for family health and AIDS prevention, amongst others

Rotarian Oteh added that patients with critical medical challenges are referred to experts for treatment at the general hospital.

Other Rotarians that spoke during the free medical services including Rotarian Florence Chukwuebuni, Rotarian Omoye Fishinton amongst others disclosed that Rotarians are action people and are concerned about the health of people in their mandate areas.

They urged residents in Warri and it’s environs to take advantage of the programme to get treated

For his part ,Alaka community chairman Mr Jerry Okowe and other beneficiaries thanked the various Rotary clubs for the gesture and pledged to inform others about the free medical services.

The health workers conducted free tests on diabetes, glucose, hypertension,malaria,Dental Care,Vitamin A Administration ,HIV Screening ,Tuberculosis Screening Deworming amongst others.

The patients were given free mosquito treated nets and Sanitary Pads.
The free medical health services continues till October 24th ,2024
