The District 9141 Governor Nominee, Rotarian Anthony Olikagu has advised Rotary clubs to apply for District and Global grants inorder to execute meaningful projects.
Rotarian Olikagu gave the advice while speaking on the topic “Growing Rotary in a challenging economy” at a membership fellowship put together by Rotary Club of Warri central.

He noted that with the present economy in Nigeria Rotary clubs need to take advantage of the District and Global grants to execute projects.
The District Governor- Nominee lamented that most clubs do not apply for grants and the funds are there in the District unutilized by clubs ,stressing that District is always ready to release the funds as far as the clubs meets the requirements to benefit from the grants .

In the area of dues payment,He stated that it is compulsory that every member pays their annual dues and used the opportunity to also advised club members to asist one another by patronizing each other businesses in order to succeed in this present economic hardship that has made some individuals not to be able to pay their annual dues .

Rotarian Olikagu enjoined the board of directors of clubs to be innovative and creative inorder for the clubs to be active and functional.

President Rotary Club of Warri central
The President of Rotary Club of Warri central Rotarian Isioma Uwagbai thanked the District Governor- Nominee for honouring the club’s invitation to speak on the topic Growing Rotary in a challenging economy.
Rotarian uwagbai stated that the topic is apt as the present economy has become a threat to membership drive of most clubs.
He assured the District Governor- nominee that the club would apply for District grant next Rotary year .
Rotarian Uwagbai thanked the board and members of the club for contributing to the execution of several projects embarked upon .

The event was attended by Past and Present Assistant District governors, Past Presidents and members of other clubs .
It was a night of networking and fun for the Rotarians present at the fellowship
