The Rotary Club of Warri has empowered over 100 traders in Igbudu market, Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, with the sum of twenty thousand naira (N20,000 )each and Aprons to boost their small-scale businesses.
The club’s President, Rotarian Chris Iyovwaye said the donation is in line with Rotary International’s seven areas of focus, which is community and economic development.

Rotarian Iyovwaye while presenting the cash donations to the petty traders advised them to invest the money in their businesses and not use it for other purposes.
He said the gesture is part of efforts to encourage small scale businesses in Igbudu market Warri.
Rotarian Iyovwaye said the donation is in line with one of Rotary’s international seven areas of focus which is community and economic development.
He said those that do not benefit will get the opportunity to benefit when next the club donates money to assist traders .

The Project Chairman and Past Assistant Governor District 9141, Rotarian Andree Edun, said the gesture is part of the club’s community and economic development projects.
He listed other projects that Rotary Club of Warri had embarked on to include provision of water to some communities in Warri , award of scholarship to students , provision of interest free loan to traders amongst others.

The petty traders who were filled with joy thanked Rotary Club of Warri for the gesture.
They said the money will go a long way to assist the growth of their business.
