Rotary Club of Warri Metropolis has Installed Rotarian Charles Etie as the 7th President of the club.
Rotarian Etie installation ceremony held at Canewood Hotel Jakpa Road,Uvwie local Government area of Delta State was witnessed by Rotary international District 9141 Governor Rotarian Anthony Woghiren and other Assistant District Governors,Past Assistant District Governors, Rotarians friends and Etie family.
Speaking during the installation ceremony, the District Governor Rotarian Woghiren represented by Assistant District Governor zone 6, Rotarian Nicholas Otobor urged the newly installed President to remember to key into the District PET project which is provision of Potable Water for communities under the club’s mandate areas.
He also encouraged the club to induct more members and contribute to Rotary foundation.
The Newly installed President Rotarian Charles Etie thanked members of the club for finding him worthy to lead as the 7th President.
Rotarian Etie said the club has earmarked the sum of Eight Million Naira for the execution of life touching projects for the year 2025/2026.
He appealed to fellow Rotarians and friends of the club to assist by contributing financially to enable the club execute projects which are in line with Rotary international seven areas of focus of promoting peace,providing clean water,supporting education, fighting disease,growing local economies,saving mother and child and supporting the environment.
Rotarian Etie revealed that
assisting to pay for Dialysis sessions for persons with kidney issues ,Provision of wheelchairs to disabled persons , Assisting correctional centre Warri ,Provision of marker boards for selected schools in Uvwie local government area, provision of
Potable water amongst others are Projects to be embarked by the club.
Earlier the immediate Past President of the club Rotarian Ayemidejo Robert Omeresan thanked members of the Board of Directors and members of the club for their support to him while he was President and urged them to give same support to the newly installed President , Rotarian Charles Etie.
He disclosed that during his tenure the club rehabilitated a dilapidated portion of the Warri correctional center roof , fumigated the yard, assist in payment of dialysis session for kidney patients at the central hospital Warri amongst other projects .
The installation ceremony featured induction of two new Rotarians,Reverend father Gala John Mario Afuevu and Rotimi Hartmann Ihaza,Donations to the 2025/2026 Community service Projects and inauguration of the club’s Board of Directors .
