Seven Rotary Clubs in Warri and Uvwie local government areas of Delta State on Wednesday donated Birth Delivery kits to pregnant women at Enerhen Primary Health Care Centre, Enerhen and Urhumarho Primary Health Care Centre in Uvwie local government area.
The Seven Rotary Clubs that made the Donations are Rotary Clubs of Ogunu, Effurun City Centre, Effurun Dynasty, Effurun Gateway,Plantation City, Uvwie Renaissance and Warri Central.
Our correspondent reports that Over 100 pregnant women who attended antenatal care at Enerhen Primary Health Care Centre, Enerhen and Urhumarho Primary Health Care Centre in Uvwie local government area received nursing mother bag each containing delivery kits such as Comfit pad,Diapers,cotton wool,cord clamp,mucus extractor,Delivery mat ,baby oil ,baby wipes amongst others.
Addressing the Pregnant women, Rotary International District 9141 Governor, Rtn Anthony Woghiren represented by Assistant District Governor zone 10, Rtn Festus Esharenena thanked the seven clubs for donating the delivery kits to the women so as to make their delivery easy .
Also speaking Assistant District Governor zone 7 Rotarian Kenneth Iyere stated that the gestures is to compliment Delta State government effort in supporting pregnant women.espcially the indigent women .
The Presidents of Rotary Clubs of Ogunu, Effurun City Centre, Effurun Dynasty, Effurun Gateway,Plantation City, Uvwie Renaissance and Warri Central,Rotarians Osamuyi Omokha,Igho Sharp Ighomorea, Micheal Eva, Festus Idabe, Lucky Ada and Efe Tobrise stated Rotary is committed to reducing maternal and child mortality in their mandate areas .
They noted that the gesture is inline with one of Rotary international seven areas of focus which is maternal and child health care.
The matrons of Enerhen Primary Health Care Centre, Elizabeth Okeredje and the
Matron of Urhumarho health care center , Enakerekpo Patience advised the pregnant women to be regular with their antenatal routine and adopt family planning method inorder for them to manage and control the timing and spacing of pregnancies .
For his part the Usiavwe of Ogbe in Uvwie kingdom,High Chief Jeffery Okorokporo and the pregnant women thanked the Rotary Clubs for the gesture and pledged to make good use of the items.
