Rtr. Destiny Rukevwe Emurotu has been installed as the District Rotaract Representative, DRR, for Rotaract District 9141 for the 2026-2027 Rotary year, with a pledge to “redefine” the organization and restore the prestige of being a Rotaractor.
Speaking during his acceptance speech at the investiture ceremony on Saturday, July 11, 2026, Emurotu said success for the new administration would be measured by the actualization of a clear vision centered on identity, training and service.
“Can we succeed? This is an important question I ask myself daily and I officially ask everyone of us today. Success transcends beyond victory, it is the actualization of a vision,” he stated.
He outlined the vision to protect the identity of Rotaract, upscale trainings and orientation, and ensure that every gathering at club, area and district levels delivers value, whether for fellowship, learning or projects.
To achieve this, Emurotu said the district would increase leadership opportunities for every Rotaractor, prioritize proper mentorship, discourage negative cliques, and recognize every noble act to boost confidence in the organization.
“This year, we are prioritizing the welfare of every Rotaractor, we need to help tell our stories bolder and better,” he added.
The new DRR also announced audacious targets for the year, including growing membership to no fewer than 1500 Rotaractors and raising $30,000 in donations to The Rotary Foundation.
He said district service projects would be decentralized, with support distributed to clubs and areas to assist them in executing their projects.
Aligning with Rotary’s direction, Emurotu said the district would work under the RI President’s theme _“Create Lasting Impact”_ and the District Governor’s charge to be “Positive Disruptors.”
He appreciated ADRRs, Club Presidents, District officers, COLS and Investiture teams for their support, and promised fair and equal treatment across all areas in the district.
“Let us envision a great year ahead and I need us to remember that Rotaract District 9141 belongs to us, we are all major stakeholders and our opinion matters. I was chosen to serve and I promise to be your District Rotaract Representative of Rotaract District 9141,” he said.
Emurotu called for support and cooperation, stressing the TEAM ideology “Together Everyone Achieves More”.
Earlier the outgoing District Rotaract Representative 2025/2026, Rtr Paul Arungwa thanked all Rotaractors for their support throughout his tenure .
He also thanked Past Rotary District 9141 Governor ,Rtn Anthony Woghiren who constantly challenged and corrected him in order to bring out the best in him .
Rtr Arungwa urged Rotaractors to give the necessary support to the newly installed Rotaract Representative so that he can create lasting change with a brave story
Also speaking the District Governor of Rotary International District 9141, Chibueze Anthony Olikagu, declared the 2026-2027 Rotary year as the “Year of the Positive Disruptor”and challenged Rotaractors in the district to embrace bold ideas and lasting impact.
The DG, was represented at the installation of the District Rotaract Representative, Rtr. Destiny Emurotu, by Rtn. Adamazi Nkiru Ezenagu, Chair of the Rotaract Activities Committee.
He congratulated Emurotu as the 10th DRR of District 9141 and the new district leadership team, noting that their selection was “both an honour and a call to greater service.”
Citing the emergence of RI President Olayinka H. Babalola the first former Rotaractor to become RI President,the DG said the world is watching District 9141 and asked “What will District 9141 do differently?”
To drive growth, Olikagu challenged every Rotaractor to sponsor at least one new dues-paying, active member and urged all dues-paying Rotaractors to contribute a minimum of US$5 to The Rotary Foundation in honour of President Yinka.
In a major incentive for transition, the DG announced a waiver of full District dues for every past or current Rotaractor who joins a Rotary club this year.
He also urged Rotary clubs to adopt the same waiver so transitioning members feel a sense of belonging.
On expansion, he said the district would charter new Rotaract clubs only through sustainable processes and with a committed Club Adviser in place.
The DG also warned against unhealthy divisions, parallel groups, and activities inconsistent with Rotary International’s policies, stating that he would not hesitate to request the removal of any Rotaractor found undermining the organization’s unity and integrity.
“Let us remember that we have one Rotaract District 9141. We are one family, united by one vision and one purpose,” he said, urging Rotaractors to support DRR Emurotu and Club Presidents to leave legacies of service and excellence.
The event featured unveiling of the 2027/2028 Rotaract Representative, Rotaract District 9141 , Rtr Joan Uto, Fundraising for projects and Award Presentation to the Member representing Uvwie constituency in Delta state House of Assembly Hon Edafe Emakpor who gave a pep talk on “Improvement of our people” where he challenged Rotaractors and Nigeria youths to create lasting impact in the society.
The event attracted Rotaractors from Edo,Bayelsa, Rivers and Delta states as well as Family of Rtr. Destiny Emurotu, Rotarians and Past Assistant District Governors.
