Senator Dafinone Says Okuama People Will Be Rehabilitated

The member representing Delta Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Ede Dafinone has reassured the people of Delta Central especially those from Okuama community in Ewu-Urhobo Kingdom of his determination to ensure that those displaced as a result of the fallouts from the killing of 17 soldiers in the community are rehabilitated.

Senator Dafinone gave the assurance while Addressing All Progressives Congress, APC Delta Central members during a consultative meeting, in Ughelli headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government Area.

Our Correspondent reports that Senator Dafinone pledged to offer the people of his district quality representation and solicited their support to enable him to serve them better.

Senator Ede Dafinone who the Nigerian military handed over the detained Ewu-Urhobo monarch thanked President Bola Tinubu and the Chief of Defense Staff, General Christopher Musa for the release of the traditional ruler.

He lauded Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for visiting Okuama community, but noted that the community is in a bad condition and needs rehabilitation.

On the issue of the present state of Delta Steel Company, DSC, Senator Dafinone noted that the moribund company is a great asset not only to the people of Delta Central but to Nigeria at large, stressing that the company needs overhauling for the people to benefit from it when functional.

He stated that the recurring issue of herders and farmers clashes is a national problem and would be tackled by the National Assembly.

The lawmaker assured his constituents that he would soon share palliatives to cushion the effect of high cost of living, adding that already the Federal government palliative for 1,600 persons is ongoing in Delta Central.

Senator Dafinone requested for names of his constituents who are unemployed to him for possible employment in federal ministries and recruitment in the military.

Senator Dafinone enjoined members of APC to come up with suggestions on areas they think he should improve upon to enable him to properly represent them in the Senate.

Some members of APC including Chief Tuesday Onoge and Hon Harvest Igben commended Senator Dafinone for assisting in securing the release of the Ewu-Urhobo monarch and for being responsive.

Others pointed out areas the senator should consider to improve the lives of the people in Delta Central which improving electricity power supply and appointments at the federal level.

They pledged to continue to support Senator Ede Dafinone for him to succeed in attracting dividends of democracy to the area.
