The Executive Director of Shamar Educational Foundation Fund, Dr Ambassador ( Mrs ) Onyi Ikemefuna has on behalf of the foundation promised continuous empowerment Programmes for its host community of Enerhen, in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.
She made the promise in an exclusive media chat with our correspondent at Shamar Schools, Enerhen at the weekend.
The renowned educationist and counselor explained that the decision was to improve on the cordial relationship between Shamar Foundation and Enerhen Community.
” We started here over twenty years ago. They stood by and supported us because they knew what we were coming with. “One good turn deserves another .” She added.
Ikemefuna had disclosed that Shamar Educational Foundation Fund has over the years carried out its corporate and socio responsibilities to its host community of Enerhen in scholarship awards to children of school age, with free uniforms, bags and one square meal a day.
She added that women of the community were engaged in rich empowerment Programmes that included funding for beneficiaries to start their businesses.
Ikemefuna further hinted that the foundation has been providing free medical care for indigenes of Enerhen Community in collaboration with Madona Clinic and that Shamar Educational Foundation Fund provided free sanitary pads to female indigenes of Enerhen Community during the covid – 19 pandemic period.
She appealed to indigenes of Enerhen Community that were yet to benefit from all these laudable empowerment Programmes to be patient and that it will soon get to their turn.
“We will continue to give them the necessary support to enable them grow ” she promised .
Ikemefuna gladly and proudly disclosed that Enerhen is one of the most peaceful and cleanest communities in Delta State .
She disclosed that the feature plan of the foundation for Enerhen Community is an advocacy program for youths to enable them to always embrace peace in order to attract more developments to the area .
Ikemefuna however urged government, public spirited individuals and corporate organisations to doing business in the area to patner with Shamar Educational Foundation Fund in making Enerhen Community a better place .
