As part of efforts to protect the Nations oil and gas facilities,Security agencies have been advised to be professional and share vital intelligence as they carry out their duties in order to increase the Revenue base of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The General Manager, Security and Military Liaison Tantita security services, Retired Brigadier General Efe Edafioghor gave the advice during a three-Day capacity building training for effective security coordination for Nigeria civil Defense Corp and Tantita security service Nigeria limited personnel held in Effurun Uvwie local government area of Delta State.

The training was organized by Tantita Security services Nigeria limited in collaboration with Top Private Security Services limited .
The General manager security and military liaison Tantita security services Nigeria limited,Retired Brigadier General Efe Edafioghor while declaring the 3 days seminar opened stated that the objective of the training is to strengthen inter-agency collaboration, enhance tactical capacities and align security coordination frame work between Nigeria civil Defense Corp and Tantita security services for effective protection of National critical infrastructure.
He added that both security agencies have shared responsibilities in safe guarding the Nation’s assets .
While noting that the training is timely and strategic considering evolving security dynamics and increasing threats to National critical infrastructure especially in the oil and gas sector, General Edafioghor stated that Tantita ‘s goal is to foster a stronger and more unified approach to enhance effective intelligent sharing and rapid response mechanisms.
According to the General manager security and military liaison Tantita security services, the training also offers the platform for both security agencies to harmonize their operations procedures and build mutual trust among the field coordinators and commanders .
General Edafioghor advised the security participants to apply the knowledge acquired during the training to improve their skills in fighting crude oil thieves that are sabotaging the Nations economy.

He advised the security participants to take the training serious as it will sharpened their skills in the protection of the Nation’s oil and gas infrastructure.
For his part Human resources officer Top Private security service limited, Mr Uchechukwu iwundu also advised the personnel to carry out their duties as professionals and work within the ambit of the law.
A legal practitioner, David Ogbedu in a lecture titled”Oil Assets surveillance viz-a-viz legal application” said in the Administration of criminal justice and engagements in the cause of the operations of Personnel, the rule of law must be followed to ensure effective operation and surveillance of critical national oil assets.
He also advised personnel to gather evidence and handover suspects to investigative personnel.
He also condemned the use of force in extracting confessional statements from suspects.
An expert Julius Nasamu Gaiya who aligned himself with the legal practitioner said, they do not have the right to shoot the leg of anyone alleged to have committed an offence.
Mr Gaiya however, encouraged the use of technology for surveillance by the security personnel just as he said NSCDC and TSSNL Personnel should collaborate amongst themselves in safeguarding oil facilities.
He added that they should also collaborate with host communities to get information beyond their reach during intelligence gathering.
The training programme included health safety and environment as well as Threat assessment and Risks management.
