Leaders of Aghoro II Community of Iduwini Kingdom in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have come out in a strong term to warned Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State that until and only when all pending issues affecting not only Aghoro II Community but other Communities including Lutugbene, Bilabiri, Peretorogbene, Ajagbene in Ekeremor Local Government Area and other several Communities in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area are resloved they would vote against him to ensure he fails his second term election.
The leaders added that would also vote against those who are supporting Governor Diri as well during the February, 2023 election including Honourable Fred Agbedi in the forth coming National Assembly Election as well.
A Statement by the duo of Mr Dennis Akpotu and Ebi Orukarevwe on behalf of the people of Aghoro 11 Community said that towards this end they are going to mobilize the Leaders and people of the other Communities having similar problem where Governor Diri deliberately refused to resolve them even though he earlier promised to resolve them.
The statement adds that it is an abomination for anybody to come to the Community for Political campaign when they are celebrating Duowetoru / Kendri Festival 14 -28 February 2023 as visitors are not allowed into the Community.
” If you could recalled it was this same people who told the World that peace has return to Aghoro 11 Community but as we speak last year December 25,2022 when everybody was celebrating Christmas, Governor Diri and Hon. Fred Agbedi brought Battle ready Mobile Policemen to our Community Yet he claimed there is peace”
It reveals that the battle ready Mobile Policemen are still in their Community Harassing people.
” What is our offense? Just because we are insisting that you must pay us our money since you mediated on our behalf with SPDC Is it enough to intimidate us? ” It stated
“We are going to use our PVC to vote out Douye Diri for Second term,Hon.Fred Agbedi and all people’s Democratic party PDP Candidates.” The statement added
According to the statement the leaders said the people of Aghoro II are going to vote for a new Governor and Political Leaders who will liberate and better the lives of the people of Aghoro 11 and not the person who will intimidate us with Army and Police that is not why we voted Governor Douye Diri and Honourable Fred Agbedi ,stressing that they voted for him for peace and development and not to deceive them.
According to the statement Honourable Fred Agbedi cannot boast of any project he has attracted to our community not even a plastic chair,saying that their youths are unemployed.
It adds that the Governor is free to campaign in Isaba, Delta State and not Aghoro 11 Community.
“Our people are solidly behind us in this struggle we are in majority and I know it is a question of time we are going to be victorious because the gods of Ijaw Nation is on our side”
