Uzere, Delta State – The leadership and residents of Uzere Community in Isoko South Local Government Area have expressed their dissatisfaction with the perceived neglect in the allocation of constituency projects by Pastor Jonathan Ukodhiko, the member representing Isoko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
In a statement released by the President General, Chief Imoni Edward Onyagbodor, and Secretary General, Samuel Oluku, the Uzere people reacted to a publication titled “Ukodhiko Performance Record Underscores Robust Lawmaking, Far-reaching Constituency Impact in Isoko,” authored by Dr. Nelson Egware, Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Media.

According to the Uzere community, the report listed various developmental and social interventions from 2023 to 2025, highlighting multiple beneficiaries across Isoko South and North.
However, they were dismayed to find Uzere absent from the list, despite being a major oil and gas-producing community.
“We do not begrudge the benefiting communities, but we are shocked that Uzere is excluded in the distribution of projects by the House of Representatives member,” the statement read. They further criticized the sole project attributed to their community—a mere installation of 45 street lights—as insufficient, calling it “a great slap and disservice” to their contributions.
The community leaders emphasized their hurt, especially recalling their overwhelming support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Ukodhiko during the 2023 elections.
The statement concluded with a call for equitable distribution of resources, asserting, “We hope that before the next elections, Pastor Ukodhiko, and all elected representatives, will ensure that Uzere people receive their fair share of the dividends of democracy without discrimination.”
Attempts to obtain a response from Pastor Ukodhiko regarding the Uzere community’s claims were unsuccessful at the time of this report.
However, a close associate of Ukodhiko, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that there may have been actions taken for Uzere that were not publicly documented, mentioning that the representative had sent bags of rice to the community during the last Christmas.
