The Voice of Warri Kingdom Women Initiative has called on the Federal and Delta State Governments to enhance security in the Ogidiben, Akpakpa, Madangho, Ajudayibo, and Ode-Ugborodo communities of Warri South West Local Government Area.
During a press briefing, the group, represented by the President Mrs. Vivian Mene, expressed concerns over the ongoing hostility that has forced many residents to flee for their safety.

The appeal comes in the wake of a recent crisis that tragically resulted in the death of Mr. Emiko Onuwaje and extensive property damage amounting to hundreds of millions of naira.

Mrs.Mene stated, “With adequate security presence, the youth, women, and elderly who fled the violence could begin to return home. We don’t want war anymore; we want peace to enable our people to return. The federal and state governments must help us with security to protect lives and properties in these communities.”

The women’s group urged security agencies to conduct thorough investigations into the crisis and ensure that all perpetrators are held accountable, emphasizing that there should be no exceptions to justice, which would act as a deterrent to future violence.
The appeal underscores the urgent need for peace and stability in the affected communities, as residents continue to live in fear of further attacks.
