Chairman of the Board of Directors at Delta Broadcasting Service Warri, Elegbete Moses Odibo, has urged the Warri Rebirth Initiative to facilitate stakeholder engagements aimed at enhancing the socio-economic development of Warri Metropolis.
Chief Odibo emphasized the need to expand dialogue, involving stakeholders from various sectors to restore the region’s economic strength and social harmony.
Other notable speakers at the event included Professor Godwin Demaki from Delta State University, Dr. Tuoyo Ovie-Jack from the School of Maritime Polytechnic Burutu, constitutional lawyer Akpo Mudiaga-Odje, and retired General Abdullah Ahmad.
The December celebration of the Warri Rebirth Initiative served as a significant forum for stakeholders to discuss strategies for revitalizing the metropolis, which has faced challenges in social relations and economic growth in recent years.
Professor Godwin Demaki, the guest speaker, expressed optimism about restoring Warri to its former glory.
He highlighted the potential for revitalizing moribund industries to reinvigorate the local economy and social life.

Akpo Mudiaga-Odje stressed the importance of citizens asserting their rights and advocating for a better society—a sentiment echoed by Chief Odibo, who called for summits to gather stakeholders and develop proposals for economic rejuvenation.
Retired General Abdullah Ahmad encouraged attendees to leverage social media positively, celebrating local achievements and fostering community pride.
