Warri Rebirth Initiative has called on the people of Warri Metropolis to heed the words of wisdom of Governor Sheriff Oborewvori and find ways for lasting peace in the area.
The apolitical group whose vision of Warri is of unity and togetherness appealed for the restoration of the old times when the people of the area were not defined by tribe but the ability to excel.
In a statement by Warri Rebirth Initiative Chairman Kes Agbosa, Publicity Secretary Patrick Origho and General Secretary Linus Chima, the group said the true Warri builds bonds of unity, brotherliness and peaceful coexistence.
The group which acknowledged the importance of politics in the development of the area, explained that Warri has a major development deficit that can be met by cooperation rather than disintegration or division.
According to the Statement, the people who make up Warri are not strangers to one another noting that they share a precious common desire for progress, peace, safety, security and friendship.
Warri Rebirth Initiative commended Governor Sheriff Oborewvori for rallying the people to embrace peace and stated that Warri as the economic hub of Delta State needs to be peaceful at all times to help drive the development.
The Initiative insisted that whatever the differences may be, time has come to find creative ways of handling a more peaceful and purposeful society to the coming generations.
