Residents of Warri South and Uvwie Local Government Areas have rejoiced over the Supreme Court victory of Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori.
The Provost of College of Education Warri, Dr Dickson Oyovwi , described the victory as a victory for democracy.
” Deltans truly voted for Governor Oborevwori and the apex truly voted for His Excellency Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori and the apex court has affirmed this. This calls for celebration. It is indeed a victory for democracy ” The Provost COE, Warri added.
A Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Oborevwori on Non indigenes Matters. Nze Francis Onuora described the Supreme Court judgement as a sweet victory for Deltans.
He noted litigations on the victory of Governor Oborevwori were set backs to the development of Delta State .
” Now that the Supreme Court has affirmed the victory of our hard working governor, the coast is now clear for the development of Delta State .
” The opposition should join hands with him in the development of Delta State ” he added.
The Unuevworo of Uvwie Kingdom High Chief Hope Akasa JP also described the victory as a victory for Deltans.
He commended the judiciary for affirming the victory of Governor Oborevwori from the electoral tribunal to the Supreme Court.
On his part, the Eni ( Elephant ) of Uvwie Kingdom High Chief Sunday Omani Agbugbu ( JP ) who is also the Unuevworo of Etche R ‘ Erovie stated the victory was a welcome development to Deltans and that was why Deltans rejoiced over the victory just as he congratulated Governor Oborevwori for the victory.
While a Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) Warri South Local Government Council chairmanship aspirant Deacon Ejiro Ibuakevwe congratulated Governor Sheriff Francis Oborevwori for the victory as he remarked that it was a victory well deserved.
The Secretary of National Association of Proprietors Of Private Schools (NAPPS) , Delta State Chapter Comrade (Mrs) Rose Obi spoke in the same vein as she stated that : ” The victory of His Excellency, Right Hon Oborevwori is victory for all Deltans. It calls for celebration.
“I congratulate and celebrate him for the giant strides he has made even in the face of the challenges after the election.
“He didn’t sit back to wait until after the judgement because he knows that time time waits for no one.
” Our governor is a goal getter and is a man of great wisdom and vision. I know his vision for Delta state is great and God will help him to achieve it in Jesus name.

Meanwhile Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) Warri South Local Government celebrated the victory with a carnival train along major areas in Warri .
The Vice Chairman of the party in the local government area Hon Marvins Okeoghene Onodjeghwo proudly and gladly remarked that the victory is divine as added Governor Oborevwori will govern Delta State for 8 years.
