OGWASHI-UKU –The quiet town of Ogwashi-Uku transformed into a hub of remembrance this weekend as prominent personalities and community leaders gathered for the final rites of late Chief A. C. Okocha, an exceptional philanthropist and political figure renowned for his generous spirit and impactful life.
The ceremony took place at the Austin Jay Jay Okocha’s Township Stadium, attended by a distinguished delegation led by Hon. Charles Aniagwu, Commissioner for Works (Rural roads ) and public information who represented Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

This presence highlighted the state’s commitment to honoring those who have made significant contributions to its development.

The memorial service aptly balanced solemnity with gratitude, celebrating the enduring legacy of Chief Okocha while mourning the loss felt by many. Dignitaries included Hon. In a parallel display of solidarity, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike and his council members attended the burial ceremony of Madam Patricia Ilolo Mordi in Ubulu-Uku.
