The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government, Hon. (Pastor) Jude Chukwunwike on Saturday, 19th July 2025, led a delegation to commiserate with the grieving families of two slain vigilante officers, Mr. Augustine Isichei of Ogbe-Abor Quarters and Mr. Uwandi Okeleke of Ogbe-Ani Quarters, both of Ubulu-Okiti community.
Addressing the bereaved families, the Chairman, Hon (Pastor ) Jude Chukwunwike expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss and extolled the late gallant security personnel for their courage and selfless service in safeguarding their community.
He described their deaths as a painful blow not only to their families but to the entire Aniocha South Local Government Area.
“These brave men died at a time they were needed most. We stand with you in this moment of grief and assure you of government support”.
He also commended the vigilante group for their complementary role in community policing and reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening local security architecture in partnership with security agencies.
Hon. Chukwunwike was accompanied on the condolence visit by the Divisional Police Officer of Ogwashi-Uku Division, CSP Okoyomon; councilor representing Ubulu-Okiti, Hon. Frank Ikeagwunachi; the Supervisory Councilor for environment, Hon Chika Kelly Edozie and Engr. Stanley Mafiana, among other stakeholders.
Prayers were offered for the repose of the souls of the departed, while community leaders and family members expressed appreciation for the Chairman’s timely show of solidarity.
The visit underscores the Council’s compassionate approach to leadership and its resolve to support grassroots security and community welfare.
