Ubulu-Uku in Aniocha South Local Government Council Area came alive on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike, formally donated multi-million naira worth of hospital equipment to Ubulu-Uku General Hospital.

Chairman Aniocha South local Government council

In his address, Pastor Chukwunwike reaffirmed his people-centered leadership philosophy: “Every life counts, and no one should lose his or her life due to avoidable circumstances.” He urged political leaders, traditional rulers, healthcare professionals, and town unions to forge stronger partnerships, stressing that collective responsibility is the pathway to a healthier, safer, and more resilient society.

The Chairman further charged health workers to deploy the new facilities with professionalism and ethical dedication, reminding them that technology alone does not save lives, but commitment and compassion.

He assured communities yet to benefit directly that his administration’s guiding principle remains equity, pledging that more infrastructural and social interventions would reach underserved villages in the coming months in accordance to their needs assessed.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the hospital management, Dr. Kingsley Adigwe lauded the Executive Chairman for his intervention, which included recent renovation works, rewiring, and remedial upgrades prior to the equipment delivery.

He appealed for further support to address staffing gaps, pipe-borne water, and the regularization of a dedicated casual worker who has served the hospital faithfully for 15 years.

The Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ogaga -Joseph Onojaeme represented by Dr. Christian Tetsola, Chief Chris Okolie of the Ubulu-Uku Traditional Council, and other observers at the ceremony hailed the gesture as a landmark step toward closing rural healthcare gaps.

The intervention, which fulfills a key campaign promise, is more than a donation.

It is a deliberate investment in strengthening the local health system. With the new equipment, Ubulu-Uku General Hospital is set to improve diagnostic precision, expand therapeutic care, and enhance emergency response, ultimately reducing preventable illness and mortality across the community.

The ceremony was graced by dignitaries across political, health, and community circles, including members of the Aniocha South Legislative and Executive Council, Special Advisers to the Governor, traditional leaders, party stalwarts, past and serving council chairmen, women groups, market associations, religious leaders, and a vibrant representation of Ubulu-Uku youths.

Commendations flowed from various speakers, including Mrs. Ann Orumade, Mrs. Rose Achapu, and Chief Barr. Nath Igbadi, who noted that the intervention aligns perfectly with the Six-Point Consolidatory Agenda of the Chukwunwike’s led administration: Security and Peace-Building, Infrastructure and Rural Development, Economic Empowerment, Agriculture, Education, and Healthcare Delivery.

They emphasized that by investing in healthcare, the Council Chairman is not just improving public health outcomes, but also strengthening the bond of trust between government and the governed.

At a time when citizens yearn for leaders who match words with action, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike continues to demonstrate that governance is not about self-interest but about service and sacrifice.
