The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government , Hon. (Pastor) Jude Chukwunwike, has pledged to leverage all available resources to ensure the health needs of his constituents are effectively met.
Chukwunwike gave the assurance while receiving a high-level delegation from the Delta State Primary Health Care Development Agency (DSPHCDA), who paid him a courtesy visit at his Ogwashi-Uku office.
“Our people deserve access to quality healthcare regardless of location or status. As a council, we are committed to supporting every genuine initiative that improves lives. Health is wealth, and we will not relent in playing our part,” Chukwunwike affirmed.
He expressed gratitude to the visiting delegation for their collaborative efforts in improving healthcare delivery in Aniocha South.
He said his administration will work closely with health partners and stakeholders to deepen access to essential health services, particularly for rural and underserved communities.
The delegation led by Dr. Charles Eboka, Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics at DSPHCDA, included Mrs. Ochuko Okanime (Director of Administration, DSPHCDA), Mr. Michael, State Technical Facilitator for the Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health Week (MNCHW), Mr. Abba (UNICEF Supervisor from Niger State, supporting Aniocha South LGA in the second phase of the National Immunization Plus Days – NIPDs), as well as key local health officials.
In his remarks, Dr. Eboka lauded the council chairman for his consistent and strategic support to the healthcare sector. He emphasized that Hon. Chukwunwike’s responsiveness to health interventions has made a measurable difference in the LGA’s health outcomes.
“We are here to commend your administration’s visible contributions to primary healthcare. Your proactive steps — especially in the distribution of treated mosquito nets, provision of logistics, and silent yet impactful interventions — have demonstrated that the health of your people remains a top priority,” Dr. Eboka stated.
Also present were Dr. Awele Nwaochei, Executive Secretary of Aniocha South Primary Health Authority, Mrs. Franca Okolo, Local Immunization Officer (LIO), and Mr. Kenneth Okafor, Health Promotion Officer (HPO).
The visit comes at a critical time as Aniocha South ramps up efforts for the second phase of the National Immunization Plus Days (NIPDs) — a campaign aimed at eliminating vaccine-preventable diseases among children under five.
With continued synergy between the local government, state health authorities, and international partners like UNICEF, Aniocha South is poised to serve as a model for efficient and people-centered primary healthcare delivery in Delta State.
