Delcom 2025: Gov Oborevwori To Declare 6th Edition Open October 6

Governor of Delta State, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, will on Monday 6th October, declare open the 6th edition of Delta State Strategic communication Workshop (DELCOM 2025) open in Asaba, the state capital.

A statement on Saturday by the State Coordinator of DELCOM, and Director General, Delta State Bureau for Orientation and Communications, Barrister (Dr) Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, said governor Oborevwori will deliver a keynote address that would resonate with the workshop Theme, “Strategic communication in the Digital Age: Leveraging on Artificial Intelligence for Effective Leadership.”

According to the Bureau Chief, DELCOM 2025 in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (CIISM), is designed to equip media appointees, notable social media influencers, professional bloggers and media partners with the necessary skills to project the policies, programmes and achievements of the state governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, and his administration, levering on digital tools for effective and result oriented media engagements.

Dr Oghenesivbe, further disclosed that the President of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (CIISM), Ambassador Dr. (Mrs) Temile Uduogho Oritseweyinmi, will on Day-3 of the workshop induct some participants as members and fellows of the Institute, while certificate of participation duly signed by the Secretary to Delta State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu, will be presented to the trainers, and all Delcom 2025 participants.

 

 

 

Seasoned Communication Scholar and Head of the Department of Mass Communication at Dennis Osadebay University Asaba, Professor Joyce Ogwezi is Delcom 6th edition Chief Trainer, to be assisted by Professor Presley Obukoadata of Delta State University Abraka, and Artificial Intelligence/ICT Expert, Dr Monday Ashibogwu, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

“His Excellency, governor Sheriff Oborevwori will declare the 6th edition of DELCOM open on Monday 6th October at Hotel Benizia Asaba. Invited guests and senior government officials are expected to be seated on or before 9:45am prompt.

“Delcom 2025 is partnering with the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management, CIISM. The Institute’s Council Chairman and President, Ambassador (Dr) Mrs Temile Uduogho Oritseweyinmi will be assisted by the Council Secretary/CIISM Registrar, Dr Adelanke Oyintoke, to induct New members and fellows of the constitute.

“The workshop would highlight the importance of strategic communication in governance, enhancing effective media engagements by leveraging on artificial intelligence and digital tools, and various techniques to project government policies and programmes in line with the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State,” the statement added.

Dignitaries and senior government officials that would attend and give goodwill messages at DELCOM 2025, include; the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Elder Omeni Sobotie, Secretary to Delta State Government, Dr Kingsley Emu, Delta Head of Service, Dr Mrs Mininim Oseji, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Prince Johnson Erijo, Chief Adviser to the Governor, Senator (Dr) Chief Ighoyota Amori, Construction giant, Chief John Oguma and State Director of Protocols, Chief Sunday Onoriode.

Other top government officials for DELCOM 2025 are; Former Delta SSG & Director General, Delta State Capital Development Agency/Dean, College of DGs, CJCO & ES, Chief Patrick Ukah, fnipr, Commissioner for Works (Rural) and Public Information, Mr Charles Aniagwu, Commissioner for Economic Planning, Chief Sonny Ekedayen, Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof Nyerhovwo Tonukari, Special Duties Commissioner, Chief Ejiro Etacherure, Vice Chancellor of Dennis Osadebay University Asaba, Prof Ben Oghojafor, Director, DELSU Business School Asaba, Prof Benjamin Isiorho, Former SSG Delta, Hon Festus Ovie Agas, Mr Mideno Bayagbon, Chief (Barr) Fred Majemite, Senior Policy Adviser to the Governor, Hon Funkekeme Solomon, Economic Adviser to the Governor, Chief (Dr) Barry Gbe, Special Adviser to the Governor on Entrepreneurship Development, Dr Donald Peterson, Executive Secretary, Delta State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Very Rev Fr Christopher Ekabo, amongst others
