Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has condoled with the Isoko Nation over the demise of retired General Paul Ufuoma Omu of Igbide in Isoko South Local Government Area of the State at the age of 84.
Rt Hon Guwor expressed sympathy and acknowledged the late General Omu’s contributions to Nigeria, given his distinguished military career and various public offices held after his retirement.
The Speaker noted that reaction to the death of the elder statesman and husband of the former Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Stella Omu, was a mixed of condolences and appreciation for the deceased’s service, and support to national development.
Guwor on behalf of the Delta State House of Assembly, extended deepest condolences to the immediate family, friends, and loved ones of General Omu and prayed to God to grant the late octogenarian access to His kingdom.
The Speaker in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Nkem Nwaeke, stated that the legacy of late General Omu, a former Military Administrator of Cross River and Akwa-Ibom states, lives on.
Guwor urged the immediate family, the Igbide community, Isoko South 2 Constituency, and the Isoko nation to find solace in the memories of the remarkable life and service of General Omu to the nation.
