The Chairman and Secretary of  Egbema Kingdom Traditional Council  High Chief David Bubor, JP and High Chief Joseph Owilly.

have stated that the traditional council stands on its decision on the Agadagba – elect of the kingdom, Napoleon Egin , a legal practitioner.

They made this known in a press statement while reacting to a news item titled : Egbema Kingdom Suspends 8 Chiefs , Passes Vote of Confidence On Regency Council, published on page 17 of Pointer Newspaper of Tuesday 25th October, 2022 .

They maintained that the emergence of the Agadagba – elect was done in due process and according to the customs and traditions in installation of a traditional ruler in the ancient Ijaw Kingdom of Egbema.

They also stated that the renowned legal icon was the most qualified of all the candidates that were screened for the exalted traditional tool of the kingdom.

High Chief David Bubor therefore declared that the traditional council ‘ s decision on the Agadagba – elect was irreversible.

He alleged that conveners of the meeting where a decision on the purported suspension of the eminent chiefs of the kingdom took place were fronting for an unsuccessful particular candidate in the kingship contest of Egbema Kingdom.

Chief Bubor also argued that the conveners of the purported meeting do not have the authority to convene  a meeting on behalf of the traditional council.

The Secretary of the Traditional Council, High Chief Joseph Owilly in his contribution, alleged that most of the attendees of the said meeting were staff of a particular private security company looking after oil pipelines in the kingdom.

He stated that Egbema Kingdom does not comprised of staff of the security company alone ” but it is also comprised of elders, women, other youths, children and children yet unborn in Egbema Kingdom. ” the statement added.

The highly esteemed chiefs of Egbema Kingdom then called on all peace and well meaning indigenes of Egbema Kingdom to embrace the decision of the traditional council as they said that it was for the overall interest of the kingdom.

They however advised that the authors of the publication should approach the court if they are not satisfied with the decision of the traditional council instead of resorting to blackmail and violence.”

They also applauded the Executive Chairman of Warri North Local Government Council, Hon Smart Asekutu for standing by the decision of the traditional council on the Agadagba – elect of Egbema Kingdom.

” He ( Hon Asekutu) is a man that knows the importance of peace, a man that understands peace.”

The statement implored the Warri North Local Government Council boss to continue to ignore negative influence that is against the decision of the traditional council on the matter.

They further appealed to the Governor of Delta State , Senator Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa to intervene on the matter in order to avoid the breach of peace in the oil rich Ijaw Kingdom.
