The Orovworere of Effurun-Otor Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Avwerotakpo Michael Eyareya (JP), Eyareya II on Thursday received Staff of Office from Delta State Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori.
Delta State Governor, Right Honourable Sheriff Oborevwori while presenting the staff of office to the Effutun-Otor monarch at Effurun- otor Secondary School field ,Ughelli South local government area of Delta State said his administration is committed to supporting Royal fathers in the State towards building peaceful and progressive communities.
The Governor represented by His Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme noted that traditional institutions are vital partners in grassroots development which underscores his administration’s commitment to supporting royal fathers in building peaceful, progressive communities.
Governor Oborevwori commended the people for the smooth transition and crowning of the monarch who is the 16th Orovworere of Effutun-Otor kingdom.
The Governor assured the people of Effutun-Otor that the Delta State government has noted their request for the construction of the road leading to the kingdom and also building of a befitting palace for the people of Effutun-Otor kingdom.
Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori advised the people to remain peaceful in order to give room for more development.
The Eldest Chief of Effurun-Otor Kingdom Chief Jonathan Duku while thanking the State Governor Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori for presenting staff of office to their monarch ,stressed that the presentation of the staff of office to the Orovworere of Effutun-Otor kingdom Eyareya II marks the climax of the selection of the monarch in accordance with the Edit of 1979 and the constitution of Effutun-Otor kingdom.
Chief Duku noted that the MORE agenda of the state Governor has positively impacted the lives of the people of Effutun-Otor kingdom.
He appealed to the state Governor to approve and Award the reconstruction and extension of the Effutun-Otor main access road which linked the kingdom to other communities in Ujevwe kingdom, construct a modern and permanent palace for the kingdom and appoint sons and daughters of the kingdom into his government amongst others.
Chief Duku pledged that the people of Effutun-Otor would continue to be peaceful and supportive to the Governor Oborevwori -led administration.
Also speaking the chairman Ughelli South local government, Hon Lucky Avweromre while congratulating the Orovworere of Effutun-Otor kingdom Eyareya II on the presentation of staff of office to him by the Delta State Governor charged the people to sustain the peace of the kingdom.
He thanked Governor Sheriff oborevwori for the ongoing projects in Ughelli South local government area.
Some of the prominent sons and daughters of the kingdom including Chief Anthony Duku commended the State Governor for presenting staff of office to their monarch .
They pledged to Support their monarch so as to attract more development to the kingdom.
The event featured traditional dances and homage by the chiefs of the kingdom to the Orovworere of Effutun-Otor kingdom Eyareya II
