Women from Bomadi Local Government Area proudly joined their counterparts across Delta State in celebrating the 2026 International Women’s Day, hosted by the First Lady of Delta State, Dcns. Tobore Oborevwori.
The Bomadi delegation was led by Hon. Rejoice Andaye, the wife of the Executive Chairman of Bomadi Local Government, who played a pivotal role in organizing the women’s participation in the event held at the Dome Event Center in Asaba.

The celebration was centered around the theme “Give to Gain.”
Attendees engaged in a range of educational and empowering activities, including motivational talks, economic empowerment workshops, and a lively march past competition featuring participants from all 25 Local Government Areas in the state.

Additional festivities included tug of war and various entertaining activities aimed at honoring and uplifting women.
In her address, Dcns. Tobore Oborevwori praised the resilience and strength of women for their significant roles in fostering stronger families and a better society. To further support economic empowerment, she provided financial assistance to participants, encouraging investment in their businesses.

Also speaking the chairperson of the Bomadi local government,Hon Rejoice Andaye commended the first lady of Delta State , Dcns. Mrs. Tobore Oborevwori for organizing the event .
Hon Andaye thanked the Governor’s wife for supporting the women in the state especially the needy through her you matter charity foundation and for encouraging women to become better persons in the society by providing skills acquisition empowerment to those without skills.
