As the world marks a significant moment in history to honour workers, the chairman of Aniocha South Local Government , Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike , has joined leaders and stakeholders nationwide to salute the resilient workforce of Aniocha South local government Area of Delta State .
In a goodwill message to commemorate Workers’ Day 2025, Pastor Chukwunwike commended the tireless contributions of workers, describing them as the backbone of the local government’s progress and prosperity.
“Today, we join the rest of the nation and the world to celebrate Workers’ Day 2025— a day that recognizes and honours the invaluable role of workers in shaping the destiny of our communities, our states, and our great nation, Nigeria.”
He lauded the unrelenting spirit of civil servants, teachers, health workers, artisans, traders, farmers, and entrepreneurs in Aniocha South, describing their sacrifices as the driving force behind the council’s developmental strides.
“Workers’ Day is not merely a public holiday; it is a solemn reminder that behind every policy, every achievement, every successful project, and every file processed, there are hardworking men and women making daily sacrifices —often in silence—to keep the system moving,” he noted.
Pastor Chukwunwike acknowledged the challenges faced by workers, including power supply issues, economic hardship, and occasional payment delays, assuring them that his administration remains committed to their welfare.
He outlined notable achievements under his administration aimed at improving the working environment. These include; provision of official cars to key council officials, prompt salary payments, staff training programmes, procurement of computers, photocopiers, and other office equipment, as well as the installation of solar-powered systems to enhance operational efficiency.
“Some of these efforts have been completed, while others are in progress. Rest assured, we are determined to do more,” he assured.
Pastor Chukwunwike reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to transparency, fairness, and collaboration, pledging to continue engaging relevant government agencies to advocate for improved working conditions through strategic partnerships.
Calling for a united front, he urged all stakeholders—leaders, workers, and community members—to embrace on renewed spirit of unity, discipline, and excellence.
“Let today be a celebration of your strength and a reaffirmation of our shared responsibility to build a better Aniocha South”, he stated.
He also paid tribute to retirees and families of fallen workers, pledging that their sacrifices would not be forgotten, and encouraged the youth to pursue knowledge and skills as the future of the workforce.
“On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Aniocha South, I thank you all for your resilience, your dedication, and your service. Together, we will move Aniocha South to greater heights,” he said.
