The Oghara Traditional Rulers Council has called on indigenes of Oghara Kingdom to remain calm and peaceful pending the outcome of the judgement of the Court of appeal as regards the traditional stool of Oghara Kingdom.
The appeal was made by the Unugbrogodo of Ogharefe Chief Steven Egbivwie during a press briefing at the palace of the Ovie of Oghara Kingdom, Ethiope West Local Government of Delta State.
A Delta State High Court in suit no HCK/23/2012 had pronounced the removal of Ovie of Oghara Kingdom Orefe the third in a case which had lasted for over ten years.
Consequently the Oghara Traditional Rulers Council considered it necessary to present a true picture of the issue with special focus to douse any tension that may arise so that it does not disrupt the existing peace enjoyed In the Kingdom.
Chief Steven Egbivwie stated that an appeal was filed at Asaba to challenge the judgement of the state high court.
Chief Egbivwie reiterated the call for residents of Oghara Kingdom to be law abiding and respect the rule of law at all times even as he expressed optimism that justice would be done and their King the Ovie of Oghara Kingdom Orefe the third would be reinstated.
