The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to maintaining an open-door policy.
The council boss gave this assurance while receiving the leadership of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Aniocha South chapter, during a courtesy visit at the Executive Complex, Ogwashi-Uku.
While warmly welcoming the union executives, Pastor Chukwunwike expressed concern over past misconduct among union members.
He strongly condemned attitudes capable of undermining the integrity of the council, warning against backstabbing, internal strife, and other divisive tendencies that could bring the council into disrepute.
He urged the union to work in harmony and collaborate toward the realization of the council’s goals and vision.
“I will not deprive workers of their entitlements, neither will I shut my door against anyone,” the chairman declared.
“As a veteran in the local government civil service, I understand the importance of synergy and collaborative partnership in achieving the council’s objectives.”
Earlier in his remarks, Comrade Austin Eboji, Chairman of NULGE, Aniocha South chapter, lauded the council boss for his worker-friendly disposition and commitment to staff welfare since assuming office.
He commended the enabling environment provided for effective service delivery.
On behalf of the union, Eboji appealed for continued support in resolving lingering challenges and also sought forgiveness for past organizational missteps stemming from internal disputes within the union.
Highlights of the visit included the symbolic presentation of kola nuts and a musical interlude in celebration of the chairman’s outstanding achievements in less than a year in office.
