Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended warm Christmas greetings to the people of Delta State, encouraging them to embrace love, unity, and Christ-like living as essential pillars for fostering peace and sustainable development.
In his Christmas message, released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori called on Deltans to reflect on the virtues of sacrifice, compassion, and selfless service exemplified by Jesus Christ. He stressed the importance of these values in nurturing a harmonious society.
The governor praised the people of Delta State for their resilience, unity, and unwavering support, highlighting that their collective efforts have significantly contributed to the progress achieved in the state.
Governor Oborevwori noted that the festive season offers an opportunity for thanksgiving and renewed hope. He assured residents that his administration remains dedicated to delivering good governance and inclusive development, aligned with his MORE Agenda.
He pointed to several accomplishments over the past two years, including advancements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, youth empowerment, agriculture, and security. He highlighted the ongoing construction of major roads and flyovers, improvements in healthcare facilities, and investments in human capital development.
The governor also acknowledged strides in workers’ welfare, peacebuilding, and social intervention programs aimed at supporting vulnerable groups such as widows, women, and youth. He indicated that these initiatives have helped stabilize the community and bolster economic activity.
Governor Oborevwori assured Deltans of a brighter future, disclosing robust provisions in the 2026 Delta State budget aimed at enhancing living conditions. The budget prioritizes infrastructure expansion, job creation, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment to promote sustainable growth and shared prosperity.
“The 2026 budget reflects our commitment to improving the quality of life for Deltans and ensuring development reaches every part of the state,” he emphasized.
He urged residents to continue supporting his administration and to promote peace, tolerance, and unity, underscoring the importance of collective effort in achieving long-term development goals.
